HACIENDA HEIGHTS -- A man pretended to have a gun to rob a 99 Cents Only Store Thursday, officials said.
The crime occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. at the store at 1120 South Hacienda Boulevard, Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Hiroshi Yokoyama said.
The robber motioned as if he had a gun under his sweat shirt as he demanded cash from several cash registers, the lieutenant said. He was last fleeing the area on foot.
Deputies described the robber as a Latino man in his early 30s with tattoos on his hands and neck.
