POMONA -- An unidentified man was shot to death late Saturday in an apparently gang-related attack, police said.
The dead man was initially described only as Latino and about 20 years old, Pomona police Sgt. Mike Keltner said in a written statement.
The shooting occurred about 11:20 p.m. in a residential neighborhood in the 1000 block of West 3rd Street, the sergeant said.
Officers found the victim lying on the floor, suffering from several gunshot wounds, Keltner said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A specific motive in the slaying was not known, however officials said it appeared to be gang-related.
Anyone with information is asked to call Pomona police detectives Jennifer Turpin or Mike Lange at (909) 621-2095.
