Robbers hold up bank with screwdriver
EL MONTE -- Two masked men robbed a bank in El Monte with a screwdriver Thursday, police said.
The robbery occurred about 5:20 p.m. at a Bank of America branch, 10426 Lower Azusa Road, El Monte police Detective Adam Girgle said.
The robbers were initially described only as male and wearing black ski masks and all black clothing, the detective said.
"Both suspects jumped over the counter and went directly for the money," he said.
Three tellers were robbed in all, Girgle added.
At one point, one of the robbers threatened a female teller by placing the screwdriver up against her side, he said.
They were last seen running through the parking lot, the detective said.

How can two cholos hooded-up wearing masks stroll past security into BOA, not be noticed,take-over/ rob the bank,assault the teller and walk out?, do banks have any responsibility to protect innocent customers and employees. Neat digital "security" cameras and Bandit Barriers have NEVER deterred a bank robber (check FBI websites), banks only comment is "No Comment" translates to "Tough Luck".
1245hr 12-11, Another Bank Take-Over at Cathay Bank on Diamond Bar Bl., Walnut (Again), (1) white male, 40s, carrying big gun,wearing possible wig or just stupid haircut, walked in broke - walked out with 5-6K, enough to do him for the weekend, just another crackhead.
