From reporter Daniel Tedford:
LA MIRADA – A man is suspected of making off with about $2,000 in cash during a robbery at a Bank of the West this morning, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials said.
A male Latino, in his mid-20s, wearing a beanie, sunglasses and a bandanna over his face, entered the bank at about 9 a.m. and approached a bank teller, said Sgt. Douglas Jensen. The man demanded money from the teller and the teller gave him the money from their drawer, Jensen said.
The suspect then ran from the location at 12709 Valley View Ave. in an unknown direction, Jensen said.
There was no mention of a weapon used during the heist, Jensen said.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating the incident and the FBI has been contacted, Jensen said.
