Woman robbed of concert tickets in West Valinda, two suspects jailed

WEST VALINDA — Deputies jailed two men Thursday on suspicion of robbing a woman of concert tickets near a convenience store, authorities said.
Alfonso Salazar, 21, of West Valinda, and Juan Casas, 39, of West Valinda were booked on suspicion of armed robbery, Los Angeles County sheriff’s Lt. Hiroshi Yokoyama said.
The crime occurred about 4:20 p.m. in front of a 7-Eleven store at Francisquito and Orange avenues, the lieutenant said.
Salazar and Casas allegedly confronted a 20-year-old woman with a handgun and demanded her concert tickets, Yokoyama said.
After obtaining the tickets, the robbers drove off in a black Ford sedan, he added.
A car matching the description was found in the 13700 block of Shaver Street, Yokoyama said, and Salazar was inside of it. He was arrested without a struggle.
Upon searching Salazar’s home nearby, Yokoyama said deputies found and arrested Casas in connection with the robbery.
The allegedly stolen concert tickets were recovered, he said.

  1. I MEAN I WOULD HAVE BEEN PISSED IF I GOT JACKED TOO BUT THE CHICK THAT SAID THE 2 GUYZ HAD A HANDGUN IS REALLY LYING. SHE SAID ANYTHING SHE COULD TO GET THE AUTHORITY INVOLVED OR ELSE IT WAS HER LOSS. SHE PROBABLY FIGURED IF SHE TOLD THE POLICE SHE JUST GOT JACKED FOR HER TICKETS THEY WOULDN’T TAKE THE CRIME SO SERIOUSLY. I’M SURE ALMOST EVERY 7.ELEVEN HAS CAMERAS.. SO IF ANYTHING PROOF THAT THEY DID DO IT BUT THEY DIDN’T HAVE A GUN WOULD BE ON TAPE. DON’T YOU THINK IF THE GUYS HAD A GUN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN RECOVERED WHEN THEY WERE ARRESTED..THEY WOULDN’T OF BEEN ABLE TO GET RID OF IT THAT QUICK..AND IF THEY TRULY DID HAVE A GUN SOMEONE LIKE A (WITNESS) WOULD BE ABLE TO VOUCH FOR HER. THAT’S SOMETHING YOU DON’T MISS ESPECIALLY IF ITS HAPPENING OUT IN THE PUBLIC. I BELIEVE THESE GUYS NEED A SECOND CHANCE AT WHAT THEY’RE LOOKING AT. YOU KNOW RIGHT NOW A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE STRUGGLING OUT HERE ON THE STREETS. PEOPLE CAN’T FIND WORK BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE, HOW THEY DRESS, HOW THEY TALK, HOW THEY WALK, TATTOOS ARE ANOTHER. I BET YOU THESE GUYS WOULDN’T OF DONE THIS IF THEY HAD A SECOND CHANCE AT THINGS LIKE A JOB. THEY WOULD AT LEAST HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO IF THEY HAD A HARD EARNED PAY CHECK THAT CAME WEEKLY. BUT SOME PEOPLE BECOME DESPERATE. AND REALLY I DON’T BLAME THEM. I MEAN I UNDERSTAND THIS CHICK HAD TICKETS FOR SALE..WHY IS SHE OUT SELLING THEM ON THE STREETS? ISN’T THAT ILLEGAL TO DO? JUST ASKING. ANYWAYS THANK YOU FOR TAKING TIME TO READ MY STATEMENT. I JUST WANTED YOU TO HEAR ANOTHER OPINION ABOUT THIS CRIME. I KNOW ALPHONSO SALAZAR AND I KNOW HIS STORY AND DEEP DOWN HE’S A GOOD INDIVIDUAL DESPERATE TO MAKE A DOLLAR OUT OF .15CENTS. SOME PEOPLE HAVE IT MADE AND OTHERS DON’T. -MEGHAN

  2. Meghan…as to whether you know Alfonso or not is one thing. I really don’t know and hardly care. However, I DO KNOW the other person involved VERY well and believe me, it is quite easy to try to hide or get rid of a gun rather quickly. I’m sure in the presentation of the case in court, a gun would have had to be produced into evidence if the gun charge were to stick in the prosecutions case. As to someone being ripped off for their concert tickets, it doesn’t matter one bit whether she was doing it in public or private, so long as she didn’t mark up the price by too much. Being a thief is plain and simple, being a thief. It is illegal by law and against the commandments of God. Either way, it was wrong for them to do it. In this economy most everyone is struggling to make ends meet, but not everyone is robbing others as a solution to that problem. I respect your view and opinion, but validating a robbery of any sort regardless of what was taken is wrong.
