From staff and wire reports:

POMONA -- A 19-year-old man was gunned down in front of a Pomona house just after midnight Saturday, and police arrested three people on suspicion of shooting him.
Ramiro Chavez, 18, of Pomona died in the shooting, Los Angeles County Department of Coroner Investigator Jim Blacklock said. The shooting was listed as possibly gang-related.
The shooting death in front of 577 Weber St. was reported to police about 12:45 a.m., said Pomona police Sgt. M. Perez in a written statement.
Police received several calls regarding shots fired in the area of Laurel Avenue and Weber. An arriving officer found Perez lying in front of the house, and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, Perez said.
Witnesses told police that a blue Chevrolet Astro Van was seen in the area during the shooting. Officers saw the van going eastbound on Holt Avenue and stopped it.
Witnesses identified the van and the people in the vehicle as the suspects involved in the shooting, the sergeant said.
Jose Alfredo Rojas-Martinez, Miguel Ayala and a teenager were booked on suspicion of murder. All three are Pomona residents.
