Man sought in Pomona shooting

POMONA -- A young man suspected of shooting another in Pomona was at large Sunday, but his girlfriend, who allegedly helped him escape, was under arrest, police said.
Michael James Thorton, 21, is accused of shooting a 28-year-old man about 1 p.m. Friday at 2838 Melbourne St., said Sgt. Jaime Gutierrez of the Pomona Police Department.
Thorton allegedly fled with his girlfriend, Christina Carline Love, 23, in a silver 2005 Toyota Corolla, license plate number 5MVS927, he said.
Love was later arrested when she returned to the shooting scene to pick up her belongings.
