I do not want my tax dollars going into the graffiti eradication. Just because you see a fixable problem does not mean you should milk the common citizen's wages in order to cover up or censor what you consider or dont call art. I am not very pleased with the fact that we have to look at calvin klein's underwear ads, but if somebody unlike an advertiser makes a statement, I am not allowed to read it?! All billboards need to be taken down if we are censoring graffiti writers. I saw 27 billboards for the LAPBAND going into LA on the 10 freeway. I Do not need that junk in my life - nobody should have that be apart of their life.
I highly doubt that these guys really caused $3000 in damage at that high school. The arresting officers have a bad habit of jacking up the estimated cost of painting over graffiti on vandalism arrests...they sure as heck did it to me. I've even read an article in the LA Times that had a worker from the MTA say as much. If you don't believe me google: " John Scott" and "Blair Berk" and the article should pop up in the search engine. It would take a whole lot to cause $3000 damage to that school.
