Stabbing reported at Arcadia shopping mall

ARCADIA — A young man was stabbed Friday when a fight broke out between two groups at the Westfield Santa Anita Shopping Mall, authorities said.
One man was arrested in connection with the stabbing, however his identity was being withheld pending further investigation, Arcadia police Sgt. Dan Crowther said in a written statement.
An 18-year-old man was walking in the mall with another man and woman about 5:45 p.m. when the group became involved in an argument with a group of five to seven young Asian men and one Asian woman, police said.
“A verbal altercation between the two groups led to a physical fight between several of the males,” Crowther said. “During the fight, it appears that the victim was stabbed.”
The 18-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his abdomen and a cut to his chin, police said. The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers arrested a man in connection with the attack, and witnesses identified him as being involved, Crowther said.
