Shooting reported in West Covina; local man sought on suspicion of attack

WEST COVINA — man was wounded in a midday shooting Sunday, and police sought a 34-year-old West Covina man in connection with the attack, authorities said.
Ramon Rios was suspected of the shooting, which occurred just after noon on Temple Avenue, just north of Amar Road, West Covina police Cpl. Rudy Lopez said. “He’s considered armed and dangerous.”
Police responded to reports of a fight and a shooting in front of an apartment building when discovered a 40-year-old West Covina man who had been shot
several times,Lopez said.
The wounded man was flown by helicopter to Los Angeles County-USC Medical
Center, where he was expected to survive, Sgt. Jeff Munn said.
After the shoting, Rios fled the area in a black Cadillac Escalade, Lopez , which was found abandoned near the scene of the shooting.
Other than an argument, a motive in the shooting was not clear, police said.
