WHITTIER -- Employees of a grocery store discovered a man's body Wednesday inside of a pickup truck that had been parked near the store for several days, police said.
The dead man was initially described only as being in his 40s, Whittier police Lt. Carlos Solorza said.
Coroner's officials were summoned to examine the body, he said, however there were no signs of foul play and the death appeared to be natural.
Employees at Ralph's, at Whittier Boulevard and Colima Road, noticed a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck had been parked in the east end of the parking lot for three days and decided to take a closer look about 10:40 a.m., the lieutenant said.
They found the man unresponsive in the driver's seat and called for help, Solorza said.
Officials pronounced the man dead at the scene.
