Glendora man pistol-whipped, shot at in West Covina
WEST COVINA -- Two gang members pistol-whipped and shot at a Glendora man Friday in West Covina, police said.
The 19-year-old victim was standing outside an apartment building in the 2300 block of East Garvey Avenue North, waiting for a ride, when he was approached by two attackers, West Covina police Lt. Marty Sevilla said.
The men asked the victim what gang he was affiliated with, and the victim told them he was not in a gang, he said.
One of the two suspects then pulled a handgun and pistol-whipped the Glendora man across the face, Sevilla said.
As the victim ran away, the gunman began firing but did not strike the fleeing victim.
Police found six small-caliber bullet holes in a nearby parked car, Sevilla said.
The assailants were described as Latino men between 18 and 20 years old, both with shaved heads and wearing Lakers jerseys.
Anyone with information is asked to all the West Covina Police Department.
