EL MONTE — Authorities Friday released the name of a Whittier woman killed earlier this week in a crash on the 10 Freeway in El Monte.
Antoinette Nadine Gutierrez, 28, died at the scene of the 2:30 p.m. crash on the westbound 10 Freeway, just east of the Durfee Avenue undercrossing, Los Angeles County Department of Coroner Assistant Chief of Operations Ed Winter said.
She was driving a 1995 Nissan Maxima when the vehicle veered to the left and struck the center median wall, California Highway Patrol officials said. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
A passenger in the Maxima and Gutierrez’s boyfriend, 25-year-old Alonso Navarro of Whittier, was treated for minor injuries and arrested due to an outstanding arrest warrant, CHP officials said.
According to sheriff’s booking records, Navarro was being held without bail Friday.

My daughter was taken away too young and I know that someone who was talking with her at the time of the accident knows what happened. We all knew that Lil One was on the run and hit my daughter alot. I was told that that he took over her apartment..if I would have known this before, I would have been there for her..instead of being afraid (like the homegirls from Southside)of some guy named little one. Nothing can bring her back..but if Alonso Ivan Navarro aka Lil One had any conscience, he would tell the truth and pay for his crime. There are consequences for all our actions..even unintentional manslaughter.The homegirls(Flaca) from Southside had the odacity to scam my daughter’s funeral service donations including the $1000.00 she stole from my daughter’s apartment while my daughter was laying in the morgue..what homegirls..I asked the old homegirl Flaca to meet with me, but she is only used to talking with girls and can not handle a grown-up conversation with a real Christian. I am not sinning by being angry at all the people mentioned above..just feeling like my daughter had poor judgement for some of her friends due to her drug use and affiliations. Her so called cousin “Black Jenny Holguin” and her own grandmother Dolores Velasquez scammed the funeral service donations as well. I am writing all of this to appeal to the youth who are looking to older homies and drug users and seller for advice. Please find new friends and go back to school.Try a change of life by letting God in your heart.

Addiction twists things around and blurs peoples point of views. To all those people who knew my sister, you only knew what she told you. You don’t know my mother, she is a wonderful woman. We lost my sister too soon I love her very much and am just lucky that we got to know her again in her sober years. God will deal with everyone who used my sister’s death to profit and put some money in their own pocket. And everything that Nadine Gonzalez said was true, I witnessed Dolores (Mine and Antoinette’s Grandma)and Jenny run their scam. And for that carwash, we were there. We were washing cars and buying food for everyone, and for what; for the two people mentioned above to go home with their pockets full. I do not believe that Antoinette hit a pothole(like some people say) I don’t believe that the crash was an accident,but the lord reveals. And I don’t believe that any of the “homies” ever really loved my sister. We loved her and will continue to love and miss her for the rest of our lives. As for the people who scammed on my daughters funeral donation, yes I was angry at first especially at her dad’s mom, but that ended quick. Anger is not a sin,it is what you do that is a sin. For you info, my husband and I paid for everything up front, except some flowers. They offered to ask people for money. Now I know why. I see you have heard many stories, but Nette left my home because she was hooked on drugs when she was 13. I tried to get her to get help, but she was an addict. Along with being a drug addict comes a life of danger. Were you there and did you see my actions, no. My daugher told me that she went willingly and did drugs with her dad and it got out of hand. I called the cops but they could not do anything because she was not willing to go in and place a report. I tried, but she was putting herself out there for many years. That’s what drug addicts to. If you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at the drug users and sellers and pimps and madams. Be mad at their actions.It seems you have alot of hot air. You should use it for facts, not fiction.I do not know what you are referring to because nothing ever happened to Nette when she was home. Drugs addicts have a tendency to blame everyone for their addiction and a tendency to create drama to gain sympathy. I just thank God that Nette is in heaven now and that God gave me back my daughter before he took her home. As for Flaca, she is just a backslider is being fooled as well. Old class mate.. I was in shock at first that ‘friends and family’ would do such a herendous thing..I think I was even more mad at first because I wanted to beat down on all of them..but being a Christian and having so much to lose..I could not. The fact is that they did no matter how much lying they do..but God sees all and revenge is his..may his will be done on them..and it is. I feel better now because I realize that God spared my mija from growing old in that environment. The Monday before she past, we spent 6 hours talking..one of the topics was about death..about how we never know when our last day is and if we feel we are ready and what will we say at that moment of no return. Call it a Mother’s intuition..but I knew something horrible was going to happen a week or so before. The holy spirit was preparing me..but I did not think it was my Nette..she was taking baby steps to getting back..but you know the enemy, Satan, did not want to let her go..kept putting distractions in her way. It was her choice. But I know she knew what to do during those last few breaths of life..She is in Heaven now free and her clothes are as white as silk snow and glimmering too. She has wings and she is prepraing the roses for the wedding of when Jesus comes back for his church. She came to me during the Mother’s day weekend and told me that..she was in a hurry, as usual, and so happy. I will always miss her “I love you Mas”. As for the people who think they knew the real Antoinette..they are not able to realize because of brain damage due to drug use, that the Antoinette who as known as Luney was not the Antoinette that me and her brothers and sisters love and will miss forever.
