Six spot fires break out in Industry

INDUSTRY — Firefighters battled six small spot fires possibly caused by a downed power line early Sunday near the 605 and 60 freeways, officials said.
The fires, which ultimately scorched less than two acres, was first reported about 1 a.m. in an open brush area at the juncture of the freeways, Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Clyde Taylor said.
Firefighters responded to the fire, and also had to deal with a downed power transmission line, Taylor said.
Officials finished putting out all the hot spots and left the scene about 8 a.m., she said.
While a power line knocked down by the wind was being looked at as a possible cause of the fire, the officials cause remained under investigation.
No injuries or property damage were reported.
