LA HABRA -- A Whittier man was behind bars Wednesday on suspicion of six counts of child annoyance stemming from incidents in May and June in which he approached 15- to 17-year-old girls, police said.
Paul Delacruz, 29, was taken into custody Tuesday at his home without incident after investigators obtained a warrant for his arrest, La Habra police said in a written statement.
In the incidents, a man approached the teen girls in a vehicle and beckoned them to come over to him, officials said. In one case, a girl reported he exited his vehicle and walked toward her.
Through witness interviews, detectives were able to identify Delacruz as a suspect, and he was identified by the victims through photographic line-ups, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to call La Habra police Detective Jose Rocha at 562-905-9788.
