Man robs Montebello bank

MONTEBELLO -- A man in a long black coat and with a scarf covering part of his face used a demand note to rob a local bank of about $400 on Wednesday.
No one was reported injured during the 11:29 a.m. robbery at the Banco Popular, 2133 W. Beverly Blvd. according to Montebello police Lt. Rich Meadows.
He said the man entered the bank, approached one of the tellers and handed over a note demanding cash. The robber also pretended to have a weapon.
The robber fled with his loot and was last seen walking east on Beverly Boulevard.
The suspect was described as a black man, 20 to 25, clean-shaven, stands 5-feet-6-inches tall, with a slim build and a tattoo on his left forearm.
Montebello police and the FBI are investigating the robbery.
