Trial delayed for Whittier P.E. teacher accused of molesting student

NORWALK — The trial for a then-29-year-old P.E. teacher accused of carrying on an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old student has been postponed, officials said.
Trial for Jesse Serrato was scheduled to begin Tuesday in Norwalk Superior Court, however it was pushed back to October 20, court officials said. He’s accused of four counts of lewd conduct on a child.
Serrato was arrested in March on suspicion of carrying on a months-long relationship with the teenage pupil. He is free on bail pending trial.
