WHITTIER — Officials Wednesday released the name of a 49-year-old Whittier man struck and killed by a pickup truck while crossing Beverly Boulevard over the weekend.
Cesar Edgar Rodriguez died at a hospital within an hour of Saturday’s 10:30 p.m. accident on Beverly Boulevard, just east of Pioneer Boulevard, Los Angeles County coroner’s Assistant Chief of Operations Ed Winter said.
Rodriguez was crossing mid-block when he was struck by a westbound pickup truck, police said.
Whittier police Lt. Carlos Solorza said the driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, and nothing criminal was initially suspected.
