Pasadena man suspected of robbing teen

PASADENA — Police arrested a man Thursday on suspicion of robbing a teenager, who was injured when he tried to hang on to the suspect’s fleeing car.
Amir McAfee, 23, of Pasadena was booked on suspicion of robbery, Pasadena police Lt. Diego Torres said.
A 14-year-old boy was riding his skateboard about 7 a.m. at Sinaloa Avenue and Loma Vista Street when a man approached him in a car, the lieutenant said.
The driver told asked the teen to use his cell phone to make an emergency call, and the teen handed over his phone, Torres said.
The suspect began driving off with the phone, and the teen held onto the car for a short distance before falling off, officials said.
Police said the teen suffered abrasions and possibly a broken foot when he fell.
A patrol officer spotted a car matching the description of the car used in the robbery and arrested the driver, Torres said.
