WHITTIER -- A man and woman suffered serious injuries Saturday in a motorcycle crash on Whittier Boulevard, police said.
The crash was reported about 3 p.m. on Whittier Boulevard at College Avenue, Whittier police Lt. Kent Miller said.
A 25-year-old man who was driving the motorcycle and a 22-year-old woman, both from unincorporated Whittier, suffered "numerous broken bones," cuts, abrasions and other injuries, the lieutenant said. They were taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, where they were expected to survive.
The investigation was ongoing, Miller said, however it initially appeared the motorcyclists were westbound on the boulevard when an eastbound Honda Accord, being driven by a 21-year-old woman, turned left in front of them.
The driver of the Honda was not hurt.
