Motorcyclist, SUV driver killed in collision in Arcadia
ARCADIA -- Officials Friday released the names of a 29-year-old Temple City man and a 75-year-old Arcadia man who died in a crash between a motorcycle.
Jonathan Paul Nyerges, who was riding a motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which took place just after noon Thursday at Baldwin Avenue and Palm Drive, Los Angeles County Department of Coroner Assistant Chief of Operations Ed Winter said.
Richard Oster of Arcadia was driving an SUV that collided with the motorcycle and overturned, Arcadia police officials said. He died from his injuries at Huntington Hospital shortly after the crash.
The motorcycle was believed to be northbound on Baldwin Avenue when it collided with the SUV, which was headed west on Palm Drive, Lt. Roy Nakamura said.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation Friday, Lt. Roy Nakamura said.
Any witnesses were asked to call Arcadia police at 626-574-5156.
