Off-duty LAPD officer from West Covina killed in motorcycle crash
From the Associated Press:
LOS ANGELES -- An off-duty Los Angeles police officer from West Covina has died in a motorcycle wreck near downtown.
Jesus Ravega, 48, was reportedly riding his motorcycle Friday on the northbound 101 Freeway near the connection to the 110 Freeway when he lost control while passing a big rig truck.
A police spokesman says the truck ran over the officer's motorcycle and then the officer.
Ravega was declared dead at a hospital.
He was a 24-year officer assigned to the Foothill Station.
Police did not say if he was en route to or from work at the time of the crash.
