WEST COVINA -- Police arrested a woman on suspicion of a home break-in Wednesday after being abandoned by her alleged accomplice, officials said.
Talia Iopu, 35, of West Covina was booked on suspicion of burglary, as well as outstanding arrest warrants for grand theft and possession of stolen property, West Covina police Lt. Tommy Garcia.
A resident of the 2600 block of East Norma Avenue came home to find a White Chevrolet Blazer parked in her driveway, and that her home had been broken into, the lieutenant said.
A woman sitting in the passenger seat of the Blazer slid into the driver's seat and drove off, police said. She was described as being in her late 20s and she had long curly hair with highlights in it.
No one was found in the home, where items such as electronics and jewelry had been stolen, Garcia said.
Officers found Iopu walking in the area of Hollenbeck Street and Garvey Avenue, identified her as a suspect in the burglary and arrested her, Garcia said.
According to county booking records, Iopu was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and was due for arraignment Friday in West Covina Superior Court.
