3 suspected of pilfering panties in Montebello

MONTEBELLO — Police arrested two men and a woman Saturday after they tried to steal a bag full of bras and panties from a J.C. Penny store at the Montebello Town Center, officials said.
Jon Bagley, 30, of Bell Gardens, Robert Machado, 32, of El Monte and Eloisa Aguilar, 36, of Chino were booked on suspicion of commercial burglary, Montebello police Lt. Rich Meadows said.
The three were spotted fleeing a J.C. Penny, 1600 Town Center Drive, with a bag full of stolen bras and panties, Meadows said.
A security guard followed their vehicle and led police to them, the lieutenant said. Officers stopped the car as it exited the 60 Freeway at Paramount Blvd.
The driver, Bagley, was arrested without incident, but Machado and Aguilar fled from the car and ditched the bag of underwear, Meadows said.
Montebello and Monterey Park police officers found Aguilar hiding in a trash dumpster, and Machado hiding under some bushes, he said. They were then arrested without a struggle.
The value of the allegedly stolen undergarments was not immediately available.
