Azusa police seek to return stolen wedding album to couple

AZUSA -- Azusa police are seeking the public's help to return a set of stolen wedding albums to the couple it belongs to.
The two photo albums were among stolen property recovered in September of 2010 as part of a burglary investigation, Azusa police Evidence Custodian Patrick Doyle.
They were recovered, along with many other stolen items, from a storage unit in an unincorporated county area near Azusa, officials said. A Covina woman and an Azusa man have since been convicted in connection with the thefts.
"After a year of searching, we've exhausted all other avenues. Now we're asking the public's help to identify the victims so we can return their wedding photos," Doyle said.
Police have sent out notices to other agencies and tried to identify the location where the pictures were taken with no success.
Officials have released photos from the album in hopes that someone will recognize the couple and help reunite them with their wedding albums.
Police arrested Jennifer Jennings, 21, of Covina and Raymundo Nares, 36, of Azusa Sept. 17, 2010 as they were driving away from a storage facility along Azusa Avenue, Doyle said.
After finding stolen property in their car, police searched their storage unit and found it was also full of items taken in home burglaries throughout the San Gabriel Valley. Much of that property had been returned to its rightful owners, however the wedding albums remain unclaimed.
Jennings pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary and possession of drugs late last year and received three years of probation, as well as a suspended prison sentence.
Nares pleaded no contest to two counts of receiving stolen property in April and was sentenced to three years in state prison.
