Two deputies arrested following fight, shooting at La Mirada Regional Park

LA MIRADA - A fight at a local park between three off-duty female deputies led to two of the women being arrested Friday.

Sheriff's officials said during the fight at La Mirada Regional Park, one of the deputies fired her weapon. No one was injured.

Capt. Pat Maxwell said Deputy Judith Gonzalez, 36, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon while Deputy Adrianne Myers, 35, was arrested on suspicion of felony battery.

The third deputy was released. Officials didn't name her.

"We're not releasing which stations they're working at. They're from different areas, assigned to patrol," Maxwell said.

He said the three deputies "got into an altercation" that broke out early Friday at the park in the 13700 block of Adelfa Drive. Maxwell didn't know if the fight involved all three women.

"During the altercation, shots were fired," he said.

Just after 3 a.m., the sheriff's Norwalk station got a call about gunfire being heard in the area of the park.

Responding deputies detained the three off-duty deputies.

Investigators from Internal Affairs Bureau, Internal Criminal Investigations Bureau, and a representative from the Office of Independent Review were called in.

Gonzalez and Myers hadn't been booked yet as of 4 p.m.
