Death investigation ongoing in El Monte, little information released

Despite the fact that this man apparently died as a result of injuries suffered more than two weeks ago, El Monte police and sheriff’s officials said they had no information to release Friday regarding what may have happened to him:

EL MONTE — Police and sheriff’s homicide investigators are looking into the death of a man Friday stemming from an incident in El Monte last month, however officials released no information about the circumstances of the death.
“Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau detectives are assisting El Monte Police Department personnel in the investigation surrounding the death of a Hispanic man resulting from an incident that occurred on October 22, 2011, at the 2600 block of Peck Road, El Monte,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Headquarter’s officials said in a written statement.
