Pasadena police jail man on suspicion of child molestation

PASADENA — Police arrested a 58-year-old Pasadena man early Wednesday on suspicion of child molestation, officials said.
Edward La Brier was book on suspicion of committing lewd acts on a child and was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail, according to Pasadena Police Lt. Tracey Ibarra.
He’s accused of molesting a pre-teen relative, though Ibarra declined to described the victim further to protect the privacy of the alleged sex crime victim.
A minor disclosed the abuse to another relative, who told the child’s immediate family of the allegation, Ibarra said. The family, in turn, notified police.
Police arrested La Brier about 2 a.m. without a struggle, though details of his arrest were not available Wednesday afternoon.
Further information about the molestation allegation was also not released.
Le Brier’s initial court date was not available, however criminal defendants being held in police custody are generally brought before a judge within two working days of arrest.
