SANTA FE SPRINGS - The driver who was killed in a 2-car crash was identified Monday as a 24-year-old La Mirada man.
Marshall James Doeve died at a hospital early Sunday, according to Ed Winter, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Department of the Coroner. Winter said the autopsy hasn't been scheduled yet.
Whittier police said Doeve was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Lumina that collided with a GMC Yukon about 2:30 a.m., Sunday at Telegraph Road and Shoemaker Avenue.
Officers arrested the Yukon's driver, 32-year-old Juan Mora of Whittier, on suspicion of driving under the influence. A charge of vehicular manslaughter was later added.
Mora remained Monday at Whittier jail without bail. He will be arraigned Tuesday at Whittier Superior Court.
Any witnesses to the crash are asked to call Whittier police Sgt. Rob Hanson at 562-567-9256.
