MONROVIA -- Coroner's officials Friday released the name of a Texas man who police said fatally shot himself in front of officers, his ex-wife and two young children after threatening the woman with a gun last week.
Sue Chee Ng, 45, of Allen, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, which took place shortly after 12 p.m. Oct. 29 in front of Library Park, in the 300 block of South Myrtle Avenue, Los Angeles County Department of Coroner's Assistant Chief of Operations Ed Winter said.
Police officers rushed to the park after receiving 9-1-1 calls reporting a man holding a woman at gunpoint.
When police arrived, the man, later identified as Ng, turned the gun on himself and shot himself in the head, police said.
Two small children, one of which he shared with the woman, were also present during the incident.
Police said Ng had followed the woman and children to the area.
