WEST COVINA -- An armed man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black baseball cap robbed a local bank on Tuesday.
Police didn't say how much money was taken during the 2:26 p.m. robbery at the Bank of America, 1520 E. Amar Road.
West Covina police Lt. Marty Sevilla said the man showed a teller a handgun at his waistband. He also threatened to harm others.
"When he approached the teller, at first she wasn't going to comply," Sevilla said. But he said the robber made a comment about not wanting to shoot customers.
The suspect took the money and fled. No getaway car was seen.
The suspect was described as a white man, 20 to 30, between 5 feet 11 to 6 foot one and weighing between 160 to 170 pounds. He wore jeans, a sweatshirt and a baseball cap.
