Covina police to display property recovered during large-scale burglary investigation

COVINA - Covina police will display property recovered during a large-scale burglary investigation Wednesday in hopes of returning hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of suspected stolen goods to their rightful owners. 

A man and wife from Pomona were arrested last month and four other suspects are still being sought in connection with the alleged burglary ring, suspected in more than 20 break-ins, Covina officials said.

"Detectives believe the ring was operating in the cities of La Verne, San Dimas, Glendora, Azusa, West Covina and Covina," Sgt. Ray Marquez said in a written statement. "However, it is possible they, at times, operated throughout the San Gabriel Valley and western portions of the Inland Empire."

Seven searches were carried out in connection with the investigation in the cities of Pomona, Azusa, Covina and Duarte, police said.

"During those searches, investigators recovered jewelry, home electronics, desktop and laptop computers and both power and hand tools," Marquez said. "Investigators believe all the recovered property was stolen from residences using both force and entering through unlocked doors and windows."

Police will display recovered property at the Covina Police Department, 444 N. Citrus Ave., from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, officials said.

"Anyone having been a victim of a residential burglary between January 1, 2011 and November

24, 2011 and wanting to view the recovered property and possibly identify it as theirs should call
