Former Rosemead Mayor, El Monte Union High School Board member and candidate for state Assembly John Tran entered a guilty plea in a bribery scam that targeted
a developer. The feds said Tran took money in exchange for promises to
get a project through City Hall. When he wasn’t elected in 2009 and the
project fell off the City Council’s radar, it looks like the developer
went to the Feds.
