Southern California Edison crews have been making steady progress restoring power to most of the 6,000 customers who were affected by power outages during Thursday’s gusty winds.
As of 1:40 p.m., the most-heavily affected area was Monrovia, where 506 SCE customers were without power, down from a peak of more than 1,000 earlier in the day, SCE spokeswoman Mashi Nyssen said.
Montebello, where nearly 5,800 customers were without electricity Thursday morning, has only 29 customers without electricity by the afternoon, she said.
Slightly more than 170 SCE customers continued to be affected by outages in Altadena, as well as 33 Arcadia customers, Nyssen said.
Crews continued working to restore power to those still in the dark as quickly as possible, Nyssen added.
As always, anyone who sees a downed power line is advised not to touch it, even if it doesn’t appear to be energized, and call 9-1-1 immediately.
