WHITTIER – The FBI Friday released photos of an armed man in sunglasses who robbed a Whittier bank branch last week.
Lt. Mike Przybyl said no one was injured during Saturday’s heist, which took place shortly after noon at Citibank, 15410 Whittier Blvd.
After waiting in line at the bank, the robber handed a teller a note demanding cash, FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said. The robber then placed a pistol on the counter and demanded more money.
The robber was described as an Indian or Asian man in his 30s, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, according to police and FBI officials. He wore mirrored sunglasses and a dark-colored vest and pants and carried a dark-colored bag and a semi-automatic pistol.
The bandit fled the location in a
