UPDATED: Man killed in Glendora Ridge Road crash; car connected to San Bernardino missing person’s case

ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST — A man was found dead in a car 600 feet over the side of Glendora Ridge Road Sunday, authorities said.
The driver was not identified pending positive identification by coroner’s officials notification of his family, however he was initially believed to be a 47-year-old man reported missing in Rancho Cucamonga about two weeks ago, according to Los Angeles County sheriff’s and coroner’s officials.
Family members of the missing man had gone looking for him when they spotted his Nissan 300 shortly after 10 a.m. about 600 feet over the side of Glendora Ridge Road, between mile markers 4.2 and 4.5, sheriff’s Sgt. Pete Shupe said.
Officials worked their way down to the car and discovered the body, which appeared to have been than for some time, Shupe said.
Initial reports that a second person was inside the car turned out to be unfounded, officials added.
Family members reported the missing man to the Rancho Cucamonga office of the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department on Feb. 21, authorities said.
