COVINA – Deputies are looking for a suspect who shot at a car following a dispute between a driver and a group Thursday night.

The driver wasn’t injured in the 5:08 p.m. shooting in the 16000 block of Clovermead Street. The neighborhood lies in the unincorporated county area near Covina.

Sheriff’s Sgt Brett Lisle said there was a confrontation between the 26-year-old driver and a group of people but he didn’t know what led to the dispute.

As the man tried to drive off, he recognized someone from the group shot at his car, according to Lisle.

The sergeant said the driver thought the shooter got into a car that fled from the area. The victim followed the vehicle.

But deputies said the shooter wasn’t in that car. No description of the suspect was released.
