Man killed in solo-car crash on South Street offramp of 605 Freeway

CERRITOS — A man died early Wednesday in a solo-car crash on the 605 Freeway, authorities said.
Ted Chunglin Chang, 57, died at the scene of the 12:20 a.m. crash on the South Street offramp of the southbound 605 Freeway, Los Angeles County Department of Coroner Chief of Operations Ed Winter said.
His city of residence was not listed at the coroner’s office, however California Highway Patrol officials said he was believed to be from Torrance.
Chang was driving a 2000 Infinite Q30 at an undetermined speed when the car veered over the side of the offramp, CHP officials said in a written statement.
“The Infinite then overturned multiple times and collided with a palm tree,” according to the statement. “(Chang) sustained severe head and neck injuries, resulting in his death.”
The crash was being investigated by the Santa Fe Springs office of the CHP.
