PASADENA — Police arrested a woman early Sunday after she crashed into a building while drunk with her 5-month-old daughter in the car, authorities said.
Virginia Gonzalez, 22, of Pasadena was suspected of drunken driving and child endangerment following the crash, which took place about 2:15 a.m. in the 1300 block of N. Lake Avenue, Pasadena police Lt. Diego Torres said.
Authorities responded to a report of a crash to find a car had plowed through the front doors of an insurance office and come to a rest inside the building, Pasadena Fire Department officials said.
The car was occupied by the driver, Gonzalez, her 5-month-old daughter and a 21-year-old woman, police said.
Gonzalez suffered minor facial injuries, and the other woman in the car was examined after complaining of pain, officials said. The baby appeared unharmed.
Police determined Gonzalez had been driving under the influence and arrested her, Torres said.
It was not clear if the baby was to be placed in the custody of family members or the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
According to county booking records, Gonzalez was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail pending her intitial court appearance.
