SAN DIMAS — The Los Angeles County sheriff’s Temple Station is planning a charity golf tournament in May, organizers said.

The registration deadline is May 7 for the tournament, which is to be held May 21 at the San Dimas Canyon Golf Course, 2100 Terrebonne

Avenue in San Dimas, sheriff’s officials said in a written statement.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Special Olympics Southern California and events hosted by the sheriff’s Temple Station.

Registration and check-in begins at 10:30 a.m., to be followed by a shotgun start at noon, officials said. The event, which will be limited to 144 players, will include lunch, beverages, prizes for top golfers and raffle prizes.

The cost of entry is $100 per player, though larger contributions can be made as well.

Completed entry forms can be mailed, along with entry fees, to the Temple Station, 8838 E. Las Tunas Drive, Temple City, 91780, attention of Maria Sigala. Checks can be made payable to the Temple Station Booster/Support Group.
