INDUSTRY – A man died died Sunday in a two-car crash on a transition road between the 60 and 605 freeways, officials said.

The crash was reported just after 5 p.m. on the westbound 60 connector road to the northbound 605, California Highway Patrol Officer Tatiana Sauquillo said.

Initial reports indicated that a white sedan tumbled off the road and down an embankment, while a blue sedan involved in the crash remained on the roadway, she said. She did not know which of the cars contained the fatally injured man.

CHP shut down the transition road as they investigated the collision Friday evening. It was reopened shortly after 8:30 p.m.

The cause was being investigated by the Santa Fe Springs office of the CHP.
