CHP checkpoint planned in unincorporated Covina

COVINA — California Highway Patrol officers will screen drivers for sobriety and driver’s licenses Saturday during a checkpoint in an unincorporated county area near Covina, authorities said.
The checkpoint will take place from 8 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday at an undisclosed location, CHP Officer Kerri Rivas said in a written statement.
Traffic permitting, all drivers will be checked, officials said. If traffic becomes too heavy, officers will check vehicle based on a pre-arranged standard, such as every third vehicle or every fifth vehicle.
