Two suspected in Whittier road-rage shooting

WHITTIER – Police arrested two men Tuesday for allegedly shooting at a driver who honked when they pulled in front of her vehicle.
The woman wasn’t injured.
The shooting broke out 1:45 p.m. in the 8600 block of Villa Drive.
A driver was heading south on Villa Drive when the suspects’, who were traveling west in the north alley of Foxley Drive, pulled out in front of her vehicle, according to Whittier police spokesman Officer Bradley White.
“Believing a traffic collision was going to occur, the victim honked the horn and the suspect vehicle stopped,” he said.
White said as the victim drove by the other car, shots were fired toward her. The culprits then drove off.
Police tracked down the suspects about two hours later. White said evidence was found in the suspects’ vehicle. He didn’t elaborate on what exactly officers found.
Justin Terveer, 27, of Lancaster and Garrett Jones, 19, of Bellflower were arrested on suspicion of attempted assault with a deadly weapon. They were being held at Whittier jail.
