Glendora police bag alleged vacuum bandit

GLENDORA — A man who swiped a Dyson vacuum cleaner from a store ran into the waiting arms of the police Wednesday night, officials said.
The car he left parked in the back of the Kohl’s at 1225 S. Lone Hill Avenue was his undoing.
Glendora police Lt. Joe Ward said a two-man unit was driving behind the store around 8:50 p.m. and noticed the parked vehicle’s license plates were covered.
As the officers kept an eye on the suspicious car, a man ran out of the emergency exit lugging a vacuum cleaner.
Mitchell Herrington, 45, of Arcadia was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
Ward said Herrington was being held at Glendora jail in lieu of $20,000 bail. His arraignment is Friday at West Covina Superior Court.
