Man stabbed during fight in El Monte

EL MONTE — A man suffered stab wounds in a fight late Wednesday, but did not appear to be cooperating with police investigating the attack, authorities said.
The stabbing took place about 9 p.m. in the 3800 block of Pine Avenue, El Monte police Lt. Dan Burlingham said.
The victim reported he was in front of his home when he was confronted by two attackers, described only as male, and got into a fight, the lieutenant said.
“During the course of fight, he was stabbed two times in lower abdomen,” Burlingham said. “He walked about a block away and collapsed.”
Rescuers were summoned to the scene and took the the wounded man to an area trauma center, police said.
His exact condition was unclear, though the wounds appeared serious, Burlingham said.
