Woman confronts intruder in Covina home

COVINA — A woman chased off an intruder early Wednesday after she awoke to find him standing near the door to her bedroom, police said.
Moses Duenas, 34, of West Covina, was booked on suspicion of residential burglary following the incident, which took place just before 8 a.m. at a home in the 500 block of West Thelborn Street, Covina police Lt. Tim Doonan said.
A woman in her mid-40s awoke to find an intruder in the hallway of her home, near her bedroom door, the lieutenant said.
She recognized the man as someone she’d seen hanging around at a neighbor’s home, he added.
“She yelled at him and managed to push him out the door and then called us,” Doonan said.
Police found Duenas in the front yard of a nearby home and arrested him after the woman identified him as the intruder, he said.
