Man killed in Norwalk shooting identified

NORWALK — Authorities Sunday released the name of a 22-year-old man who was chased down and shot to death late Thursday.
Robert Maurice Garcia of Norwalk died at a hospital shortly after the fatal attack, which took place just before midnight in the 13500 block of Norwalk Boulevard, near Firestone Boulevard, according to Los Angeles County sheriff’s and coroner’s officials.
Garcia was walking along Front Street toward Norwalk Boulevard when he was confronted by three people described only as Latino men, Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials said in a written statement.
He fled from the three men and ran to a nearby business, officials said. One of the attacker pursued him and shot him in the upper body.
No further suspect description or motive in the shooting was released.
