Man attacked with brick in Norwalk

NORWALK — A man was taken to a hospital Wednesday after an assailant hit him on the head with a brick.
Deputies searched for the suspect but couldn’t find him.
The assault took place 5:15 p.m. outside the Wienerschnitzel at 11660 East Imperial Highway in Norwalk.
“The suspect ran past him and struck him on the back of the head with a brick in a bag,” Lt. Frank Rivera of the sheriff’s Norwalk station said.
Rivera said the suspect didn’t say anything before the attack. The culprit ran across the street and out of view.
The victim sustained a laceration to the back of the head, was treated at a hospital and released, according to the lieutenant.
The suspect was described as a black man in his 30s, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds. He wore a black shirt and blue jeans.
