A man was in custody Friday night for allegedly stabbing another man in the chest.

Sgt. Catrina Khasaempanth of the sheriff’s San Dimas station thinks the two men argued before the assault.

The stabbing was reported to deputies at 9:40 p.m. in the 16700 block of Bellbrook Street which is in the unincorporated county area near Covina.

She said the suspect was still at the scene when deputies arrived. A knife was recovered.

The victim was taken to a hospital.

The suspect’s name and age weren’t available. He had not been booked yet.
