GLENDORA — Police jailed a Glendora man Saturday after his girlfriend arrived home and discovered him having sex with a 12-year-old girl, officials said.

Jami Jess Ortiz, 39, was booked on suspicion of child molestation and unlawful sex with a minor, Glendora police Sgt. Scott Strong said.

The incident was reported about 4 p.m. in the 600 block of South Scott Place, officials said,

After the woman discovered the crime, neighbors detained the man until police arrived, Strong said.

According to county booking records, Ortiz was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail pending his scheduled arraignment Tuesday in West Covina Superior Court.
